· Students who attend the YMCA will be picked up at door nine.
· Students in 5th grade or younger must be supervised by an adult at all times during after school events. It is the responsibility of the supervising adults to ensure the safety and well-being of the students under their care.

· A temperature over 100.4 degrees (orally).
· Intestinal disturbances accompanied by vomiting or diarrhea.
· Any undiagnosed rash.
· Sore or discharging eye or ear, or profuse nasal discharge.

- A student absent for an extended period due to physical, mental, or emotional disability.

The district may require suitable proof regarding the above exceptions, including written statements from medical sources.
This is as stated in Board Policy JH.
*** Students sent home due to safety or health concerns cannot attend after-school activities on the day they were sent home.***
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
Excused Absence: To excuse a student for a reason listed in Policy JH as an excused absence, a parent or guardian must: Either phone (719) 540-4000 or send a written message to the school front office within 24 hours of the absence.
Pre-arranged Absences: Parents or guardians who wish to request approval for an excused absence for their child for an extended period need to make arrangements through a school administrator. The reason for the absence must be consistent with the definition of an “Excused absence.” Parents should notify the administrator in advance, preferably one week, so the student’s teacher can make arrangements to complete make-up work.
Leaving School: Students who miss part of a school day must check out through the Front Office. An administrator, or designee, will verify the need for the absence before releasing the student. A student who becomes ill during the school day must go to the office. Students will only be called to the office once the parent/guardian or individual on the contact list arrives to pick them up; all students must be signed out by a parent/guardian or individual on the contact list.
Early End-Of-Year Check-Out: Students will not be permitted to check out of school early except in the case of an emergency. The student and parent should obtain principal approval and follow the pre-arranged absence procedure.
Make-Up Work: Students are responsible for work missed while absent. The teacher will assist students in accomplishing their make-up work and will allow the student a reasonable amount of time (two days per day absent) to complete the work.
This is as stated in Board Regulation JH-R.
